Brief introduction for Mr. Chandra Kumar – Managing Director

His original company Sara Services & Engineers Pvt. Ltd. came into existence in 1979. Some of you may be new to the Oilfield industry and know only Mr. C. Kumar as the face of now Involute (ex Sara) but in reality Sara Services till the year July 2007 had many employees (370) working under him as that was the month acquisition of NOV took effect.

Mr. Kumar who passed out with his 1st Class Degree B-Tech (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from India’s top college i.e IIT (Indian Institute Of Technology) from Kharagpur and started his tryst with the oilfield industry in the year 1968 during his tenure with Larsen & Toubro where he spearheaded their oilfield division. A decade later some of the leading names in the industry namely Varco BJ now NOV, Bowen now NOV , Camco now Schlumberger, Reed Rock Bit Co. now NOV, having realized the potential of the growth of the Indian industry felt that a dedicated team would be better than an engineering conglomerate to look after their interests in India. In 1979 Sara Services was born and these erstwhile principals funded the operations for the initial two years. Mr. Kumar decided to exit from Involute Engineering Pvt. Ltd., (IEPL) and started his own company. In the month of August, 2014, he formed a Partnership firm under the name of M/s. CHANDRAKUMAR CONSULTING ENGINEERS and transferred all the above port folios in the new firm. Now this firm was converted in to Private Limited w.e.f. 1st April, 2019
